The entrance-hall

On entering the front door, one is transported back to the Victorian era and is overwhelmed by the Burmese teak staircase with its perfect proportions and the hand carved furniture of fine woods. The complete suites of oak, satinwood, Japanese elm, walnut and exquisite rosewood hand inlaid with ivory.

The library

Of great interest to the  historically- minded is the collection of photographs, maps and books in the library.

The restoration of the murals is an on-going process.  The layers of paint applied over the years are painstakingly removed until the original painted pattern is exposed.  As finances allow the walls are being restored to their former glory.
