Grade 6 to 12: The Anglo-Boer War

(1899-1902)

The role of Sammy Marks in the Anglo-Boer War, with special emphasis on the battle of Diamond Hill, is explained. Learners have the opportunity to experience a mock battle between the British in a blockhouse and a desperate Boer commando.

Grade 7 to 12: Language Programme

The grade 7 - 12 learners become journalists and conduct an interview on the occasion of Sammy Marks's 70th birthday. As journalists they do a tour of the house and then write a newspaper report for the Zwartkoppies Times on the history of the Marks family and the interior of the house

Other educational programmes are also available for learners of different grades and include themes like birds, animals on Zwartkoppies, now and then, a game of croquet, a treasure hunt or joining Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson on a hunt for the thief.

Curriculum 2005 is applied in all our programmes
