                                           Introduction

The WHN is intended primarily to serve as a channel for communication and information between any persons or groups with an interest in hornbills. Anyone who wishes to connect with or share this channel is welcome to establish their own linked site. The WHN is also intended as an important data source on hornbills, providing bibliographical reference lists, colour pictures, summaries of species biology and any other information that can be developed. These data will ultimately be interlinked and presented in a format that will allow for continual up-dating, extension and improvement. Currently available:
  • - Some accounts that summarise the biology of hornbill species
  • - Some colour photgraphs of hornbills
  • - A comprehensive bibliography of hornbill references

This website is maintained by Marion Burger at the Transvaal Museum at Pretoria, South Africa ( South Africa). Queries about the WHN and hornbills in general can be directed to
, who has a long interest in hornbills. Please send him e-mail or snail mail  with any ideas, any information for inclusion on the databases, in fact, anything to do with hornbills.
