Science Magic Shows
The challenges and demands of education, especially Science, Mathematics and Technology, have become greater that ever before. In this changing world, educational priorities and methods have to change as well, in order to assure our children of good opportunities for employment.
The Transvaal Museum Education Department has been fortunate to form a partnership with a scientist to present Science Magic Shows at the museum. He demonstrates the uses of ordinary materials to show that physics and chemistry are part of our everyday lives.
Science Magic Shows are designed around the main topics of the syllabus, including: Air; Water; Weather; Heat & Temperature; Density; Forces & Pressure; Vectors; Motion; Gas Laws; Electro-statics; Current Electricity; Acids, Bases & Solutions; Redox Reactions & Electrochemistry; Rates of Reaction; Equilibrium; Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. Please specify your particular interest when booking for a show.
The cost is R10.00 per learner, and also includes a conducted tour through the Museum. This means that the learners can be exposed to curriculum-enriching activities in Chemistry, Physics and Biology in one field trip. It also serves to create awareness that all sciences are interconnected.
