The exhibition, Creating Hananwa: People of the Blue Mountain, tries to reflect the history of South Africa, as experienced by a group of people, in a particular part of the country, over a period of time. The message is based on the assumption that ‘culture’ and ‘identity’ are dynamic and continuously changing. The exhibition is based on many years of research done by the Museum. It reflects anthropological, archaeological and historical methodologies supported by using oral evidence and unpublished archival material.
