Distribution: Nigeria, Cameroon, Zaire, Rwanda, Uganda, Angola. Fragmented range.

Status: Uncommon local resident. Could be threatened.

Habitat: Restricted to highlands. Forest, scrubby patches and along streams.

General habits: Fast-moving. Forages 2-10m above the ground in fruiting trees and bushes. Roosts in tree cavities and old nests.

Feeding habits: Hangs tit-like as it feeds. Food mainly fruit, figs, berries, Loranthus fruits and beetles.

Breeding habits: Nests at forest edge.

Nest: Excavated in stub or dead branch of a live tree, usually low (under 1m from the ground). Small cavity.
