Status: Breeding resident

Habitat: Riverine forest, forest and dense woodland

General habits: Not usually seen as it keeps to the top of the canopy, but can be detected by its call.

Feeding habits: Forages like a warbler, actively darting at insects and gleaning fromthe foliage. Diet consists of insects and fruit.

Breeding habits: Territorial, territories being maintained by singing.
Egg laying: November to February
Nest: Hole excavated on underside of a branch
Eggs: 2-4
Incubation: About 12 days, by both sexes.
Young: Hatch naked and blind. Young are fed on insects for the first two days and then fruit as well as insect thereafter. They fledge after about 20 days.
